Terms for using FinanceOS
Terms & Conditions
These terms govern your access to FinanceOS and set expectations for accounts, workspaces, financial records, uploaded content, AI-assisted features, and responsible use.
Effective and last updated: 13 August 2026
FinanceOS is an information-management and record-keeping platform. It is not a bank, broker, exchange, investment adviser, accountant, tax adviser, insurer, lender, or legal adviser.
1. Acceptance of these terms
By accessing or using FinanceOS (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms & Conditions and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use the Service for an organization, client, household, or another person, you confirm that you have authority to act for them and to accept these terms on their behalf.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into these terms. You agree to provide accurate account information, maintain a current verified email address, keep your Google account and devices secure, and notify us promptly of suspected unauthorized access.
You may not share an account or use another person’s identity. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless caused by a failure for which FinanceOS is legally responsible. We may require identity, email, or authority verification before granting access or acting on a sensitive request.
3. Workspaces, roles, and client access
Access may be assigned through Admin, Client, or Accounts roles and through client-workspace invitations. You may access and use only those workspaces, features, and records you are authorized to use. Workspace owners and administrators are responsible for invitations, role assignments, reviewing access, and removing access when it is no longer appropriate.
If you invite an accountant or other collaborator, you authorize them to access and work with information permitted by their role. If you act for a client or another person, you are responsible for maintaining any consent, engagement, or other authority required for you to access, upload, change, export, or delete their information.
4. The Service
FinanceOS can help users maintain accounts, cards, transactions, investments, precious metals, private-equity interests, property, vehicles, insurance information, loans and other liabilities, budgets, goals, statements, invoices, GST and tax records, supporting documents, and financial summaries. It may also provide document processing, market-data refreshes, collaboration, notifications, insights, and export tools.
Features may be added, changed, limited, suspended, or discontinued. Unless a feature expressly states otherwise, FinanceOS does not hold funds or securities, connect to your financial institution, execute trades, initiate transfers, lend money, provide insurance, file tax returns, register assets, submit forms to an authority, or guarantee legal or regulatory compliance.
5. Your right to use the Service
Subject to these terms, FinanceOS grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable right to access and use the Service for lawful personal, household, or internal business record-keeping. You may not resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service unless we agree in writing.
6. No professional advice or fiduciary relationship
Information displayed or generated by FinanceOS is for record-keeping and general informational purposes. It is not financial, investment, accounting, tax, insurance, lending, or legal advice, and use of the Service does not create a fiduciary, adviser, accountant-client, lawyer-client, insurer, or lender relationship.
Prices, exchange rates, net asset values, valuations, returns, loan schedules, forecasts, classifications, GST indicators, tax estimates, and summaries may be delayed, estimated, incomplete, or inaccurate. You are responsible for checking source records and consulting a qualified professional before making a financial, investment, tax, insurance, credit, or legal decision.
7. AI-assisted features
FinanceOS may use artificial intelligence to extract, structure, classify, compare, or summarize statements, invoices, investment records, tax and GST documents, loan schedules, property and vehicle documents, and other information you submit. AI-generated results are probabilistic and may be incomplete or wrong.
You must review source documents and generated results before accepting, exporting, filing, paying, claiming a tax benefit, or otherwise relying on them. FinanceOS does not guarantee that an invoice is valid, GST is recoverable, a filing position is correct, a repayment schedule is complete, an asset attribute is accurate, or a transaction has been categorized correctly.
8. Your content and permissions
You retain any ownership you have in the information, images, and documents you upload, enter, or submit (“Your Content”). You grant FinanceOS and its service providers a limited, non-exclusive permission to host, copy, validate, process, transmit, display, and create user-requested results from Your Content only as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, maintain, troubleshoot, and support the Service.
You confirm that Your Content is accurate to the best of your knowledge, lawful, and free of malicious code, and that you have all rights and permissions required to provide and process it, including when it contains another person’s information or client records. You remain responsible for keeping original records where law, contract, or prudent practice requires them.
FinanceOS does not claim ownership of Your Content, sell it, use it for third-party advertising, or use it to train general-purpose AI models. Our processing of personal information is further described in the Privacy Policy.
9. Acceptable use
You must not:
- access another user’s or client’s account, workspace, files, or information without authorization;
- upload malware, unlawful material, intentionally fabricated records, or content that infringes another person’s privacy, confidentiality, intellectual-property, or other rights;
- use the Service for fraud, impersonation, tax evasion, money laundering, sanctions evasion, market abuse, or other unlawful conduct;
- probe, disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, or bypass security, usage, or access controls, except where applicable law expressly permits;
- use automated means to scrape, harvest, or extract the Service outside supported interfaces, or place an unreasonable load on the Service;
- introduce content intended to manipulate document processing or AI instructions, or misrepresent generated content as independently verified; or
- misrepresent your identity, authority, permissions, records, or relationship with a workspace or client.
10. Third-party services and data
The Service relies on providers such as Clerk, Google, Supabase, Vercel, OpenAI, Resend, Yahoo Finance, MFapi.in, and Logo.dev. Their products, data, and availability may be governed by separate terms and policies. FinanceOS is not responsible for a third party’s independent services, outages, restrictions, or changes outside our reasonable control.
Market prices, currency rates, fund data, logos, and other third-party content are provided for informational use and may be delayed, corrected, unavailable, or subject to provider rights and restrictions. Do not redistribute or commercially exploit third-party data unless you have permission.
11. Emails, notifications, and exports
FinanceOS may send transactional messages needed to operate the Service, including invitations, security or operational communications, review notifications, and exports you request. Where settings are available, you can manage optional notification categories, but essential account and security messages may still be sent.
Requested exports and supporting documents may be delivered as email attachments to your verified address. Email can be forwarded, downloaded, or accessed on other devices. You are responsible for confirming filters and recipients, securing your mailbox and downloaded files, and sharing exports only with authorized people.
12. FinanceOS ownership and feedback
FinanceOS and its software, interfaces, visual design, trademarks, and original content, excluding Your Content and third-party content, are owned by FinanceOS or its licensors and protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Except for the limited right to use the Service under these terms, no rights are transferred to you.
If you provide feedback or suggestions, you permit us to use them without restriction or compensation, provided we do not publicly identify you or disclose Your Content without permission.
13. Availability, changes, and your records
We aim to provide a reliable Service but do not guarantee uninterrupted, secure, or error-free availability. Maintenance, provider failures, network conditions, security incidents, legal requirements, capacity limits, or events outside reasonable control may affect access or processing.
FinanceOS is not your system of record for legal retention unless we expressly agree otherwise. Keep independent copies of documents, exports, and records you are legally, contractually, or operationally required to retain. Review an export before treating it as a complete backup.
14. Paid features
If FinanceOS offers a paid plan or feature, its price, billing period, taxes, renewal terms, cancellation rights, and any refund terms will be disclosed before purchase or in additional commercial terms. Failure to pay an amount when due may result in restriction of the paid feature, subject to applicable law.
15. Suspension, termination, and deletion
We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect the Service or another person, investigate suspected misuse, comply with law, address non-payment, prevent material harm, or enforce these terms. Where practicable and lawful, we will provide notice and an opportunity to address the issue.
You may stop using the Service at any time and may request account or workspace deletion. Access, deletion, retention, and restoration are subject to workspace authority, the Privacy Policy, provider processes, legal requirements, and any rights that cannot be waived. Termination does not affect provisions that by their nature should survive, including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, responsibility for misuse, and dispute terms.
16. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, title, accuracy, and uninterrupted availability. We do not warrant that generated results, third-party data, files, or exports will be complete, current, or suitable for a particular filing, decision, or use.
Nothing in these terms excludes a warranty, statutory right, or remedy that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
17. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, FinanceOS will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, goodwill, tax benefits, investment opportunities, or business interruption arising from use of or inability to use the Service.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability arising from fraud or wilful misconduct. Your statutory consumer rights, if applicable, remain unaffected.
18. Responsibility for misuse
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to reimburse FinanceOS for reasonable losses, claims, and expenses arising from your unlawful use of the Service, violation of these terms, infringement of another person’s rights, or provision of content you were not authorized to use. This does not apply to the extent a claim results from FinanceOS’s own unlawful conduct, negligence, or breach of these terms.
19. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Before starting formal proceedings, you agree to contact us and attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute. Any unresolved dispute will be subject to the courts having competent jurisdiction over the operator of FinanceOS, except where applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
20. General terms
If a provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect and the affected provision will be enforced to the greatest lawful extent. A delay in enforcing a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign your rights or obligations under these terms without our consent. We may assign these terms as part of a reorganization, financing, merger, sale, or transfer of the Service, subject to applicable law.
These terms, the Privacy Policy, and any additional terms presented for a specific feature form the agreement between you and FinanceOS regarding the Service and replace prior terms on the same subject.
21. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes to the Service, providers, risk, or law. We will update the effective date above and provide additional notice where required. Continuing to use the Service after revised terms take effect means you accept them, except where applicable law requires another form of consent.
22. Contact
Questions, complaints, or notices about these terms may be sent to abhilash0505@gmail.com. Please do not send passwords, full card or account numbers, or sensitive documents by ordinary email.
